A Little History
Behind Storm Trade
Erik de Kat, born august 1958, is a Dutch citizen and has built up a truly international career.
Erik began his career in the family owned plastic moulding company, bearing the familyname De Kat BV.
He followed the entrepreneurial spirit of the De Kat family and setup his own company Veka Systems BV in 1983. From day one the company specialized in selling refurbished and new cash and currency handling equipment. The quality and innovation within the Veka Systems range led the company to focus on the amusement and casino markets in Europe, distributing brands such as CatCoin and Brandt USA.
In 1999 Veka Systems BV was integrated into the Suzo Group of companies and Erik led this division as managing director for 5 years.
In 2004 Hess Cash Systems GmbH based in the Stuttgart region, presented Erik with the opportunity of leading new business development in the casino and banking markets and he heads up the global marketing and sales division for the Polaris and Sirius line of products.
In 2015 Erik managed the sale of the Casino line of products from Hess Cash Systems GmbH to the new Dutch company Cash Support BV and joined as managing director to focus purely on the business development and introducing the new range of Casino redemption terminals for Tickets and Smart cards the CTM-ONE.
For the period of 2015-2018 Erik was asked as a part-time consultant for the German based company Procoin GMBH, supplier of desk top cash handling, to develop new export business opportunities and improve the performance of their global distribution network.
In 2018 the UK based company Banking Automation LTD, that time acquired by the Australian company SprintQuip based in Sydney, hired Erik to have a part-time involvement in extending the export portfolio and promote the unapparelled quality in 24/7 self-service banking equipment, with the core focus on coin handling and distribution.
